Hello wonderful MLNP Academy Educators and Professionals! It was so lovely seeing all of the enthusiasm and creativity sparked in our educator meetups. We are so inspired and excited for what is to come! We loved that you all decided to find accountability buddies to help with uploading content to the site, so we decided to help facilitate this in a more permanent space! Please use this thread to exchange info with other educators and professionals to be your accountability buddy for the site.
I was surprised in a positive way when I received the message that the MVP for the MLP academy has gone life. That's some great news! Looking forward to all the extra content that is going to be added in there coming weeks.

I'm a 50yo female who really wanted this education growing up in the USA. 1970s Hawaii actually taught age-appropriate ed from body parts to puberty to sex ed. Then my family moved to California where "sex ed" was reserved for high school seniors (12th grade = 17/18yo) WITH child care on campus. Good for having child care at all but education a tad late. I've learned that the people most against sex ed are the ones who REFUSE to properly educate their kids leaving said kids to figure it out on their own...then getting enraged at those kids for consequences the parents themselves created. That's just insane.
A joyous THANK YOU to Cindy Gallop's team for the long hard work bringing this Academy into being. I've just become a member. I want everyone to be educated about responsible sex from a safe and accessible website.
I love the Exploring As: Role/Age filter at the top making the search easy. Krista White's: Consent is Mandatory and Benjamin Dunk's: Intimacy Guide for Young Men About Sex is EXACTLY the info that needs to get out there.
I look forward to seeing this Academy becoming The Source for global sex ed.
My situation is such that I am not really able to contribute anything myself, but I am pleased that this has finally become available (!!a quarter of the way through the 21st century!!).
What are the best ways to teach consent in primary schools? Would you differentiate by gender? What cultural considerations would you take into account?
